The National Day of Racial Healing initiative was put forth in 2017 by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in an effort to drive awareness to racial equality. In its first year the campaign, #thedaytoheal ran for 45 days and reached over 30 million people on Facebook and Twitter alone, garnering national attention and noteable press coverage for being the first multi-camera livestream production of its caliber.
